Tyler Boris, LMSW:
Founder of Mindflo
Tyler is a licensed clinical social worker and the founder of Mindflo, a mindfulness based therapy practice. After receiving his Master’s degree in social work from the University of Chicago in 2008, he spent several years working in the financial industry. It was there that he began to notice a distinct behavioral pattern characterized by avoidance and distraction from the present moment.
Rather than dwell on the past or future, however, as is common in many therapeutic models, Tyler saw an innate human need to untangle from the mind’s clutter and reconnect with source. He channeled these observations into a practice called Mindflo, a mindfulness based cognitive therapy approach aimed at reducing stress and enjoying a higher quality of life.
Tyler has experience treating a variety of conditions including anxiety, depression, and PTSD. He now engages in a more eclectic and holistic model, incorporating theories that range from Mindfulness Therapy to CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy). Tyler provides virtual therapy to both adolescents and adults. He currently practices in Michigan and Florida
The mind creates the abyss and the heart crosses it.
